Welcome!
President's Message
Hello and welcome to the Lansing Area Chapter – Safari Club International website.
Our chapter was founded and chartered in 2000 with 50 members and has quickly grown to a chapter with over 400 members. We are dedicated in SCI’s missions of preserving hunting and hunters’ rights and the conservation of wild animals worldwide.
Purposes of the Lansing Area Chapter of Safari Club International
-
To meet with men and women who have a like interest in hunting
-
To function as a resource for quality hunts, guides, and outfitters
-
To introduce children and those new to the sport to the enjoyment of hunting and the out-of-doors
-
To educate the public about the conservational aspects of hunting
-
To protect the freedom to hunt
-
To promote the conservation of wildlife
-
To share the bounty from hunting with the hungry
-
To cheer up challenged children with a Safari Wish
-
To thank the veterans for their service to our country
Our annual chapter banquet and fundraiser is our main source of revenue to support these goals and purposes. This year’s banquet is scheduled for March 12th & 13th at Eagle Eye Golf Resort in East Lansing. Large numbers of desirable raffle items as well as stimulating silent and live auction items are sure to gain your interest, as there is something for everyone.
Chapter meetings are held bi-monthly with a wonderful time of fellowship between hunting friends, as well as stimulating and entertaining presentations. An annual picnic with outdoor activities for the entire family takes the place of our August meeting.
We have had a European pheasant hunt annually for the past 6 years, and we plan on continuing this great family time and tremendously fun event.
Our chapter is extremely proud that we’ve been able to send children with severe life challenges on their dream hunts, and have taken many veterans, some with war injuries, on deer and pheasant hunts.
Please visit us and consider joining so that our family of friends can become your family, too.
Sincerely,
Ronald N Lanford DVM
